Our President Attends the Fourth Vice Chancellors' Forum at Turkey
Recently, Prof. Datuk Dr. Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, President of MMU, attended the Fourth Vice Chancellors' Forum on Universities in the Islamic World held in Ankara, Turkey.
Themed "Forming the Higher Education Area of the Islamic World", the forum is a platform aiming to encourage collaborations, promoting the quality of education, and discussing the current issues in the field of higher education in the universities of the Islamic world. This year's event saw 334 Rectors, Vice Chancellors, and Presidents of institutes of higher learning from 37 countries attending the forum.
The welcoming ceremony of the forum place at the Presidential Palace under the auspices of the President of Turkey, the Hon. Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was followed by panel sessions, which covered matters considered important to strengthening the higher education sector of the Islamic world, including Qualifications Framework and Quality Assurance; Credit Transfer System and Mobility; QA Agencies and Recognition & Equivalence; and Joint/Dual/ Double degree Programs. On top of that, forum attendees witnessed the publication of the Ankara Declaration 2017, a road map in forming the higher education area of the Islamic world.
