Infineon Accepts MMU Students for its High End Industry Graduate Internship Programme
On 7 February 2018,Multimedia University (MMU) recently signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to seal a smart partnership collaboration with Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn.Bhd.at Multimedia University,Melaka. The MoU was signed by Vice President of MMU,Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail and President & Managing Director, Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.,Dr. Lee Cheong Chee. Also present Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lau Siong Hoe,Dean Faculty of
Information Science &Technology (FIST) and Mr Terry Khoo,Senior Director HR, Infineon Technologies as the witnesses for the MoU signing ceremony.
During the event, around 10 members from Infineon Technologies consisted of their top management members and 11students from Faculty of Information Scienceand Technology (FIST) who have been selected for High End Industry Graduate
Internship Programme (HEIGIP) 2.0 have attended theceremony. With theagreement,students from MMUwill be able to establish and participate in their SAP Training programme handled by
InfineonTechnologies Sdn. Bhd.
Through this HEIGIP, students from second year onwards can apply to participate in this SAP training. The objectives of this HEIGIP is to expose MMU students with SAP Program and build up talent pipeline for Infineon (Melaka). It is also to build up SAP talents trained by Infineon SAP Technical experts and with SAP University Alliance (UA) curriculums. Around 5 modules:Orientation at Infineon,SAP Big Picture,Operating Systems Training,SAP Technical Training & Labs and Soft Skills Training (On Job Training) are prepared for all selected students.
The students will undergo the modules every trimester break starting in second year of their studies and at the end of their course structures,they will undergo an Industrial Training at Infineon (Melaka).The durationof each module is around 3-4 weeks and all expenses for this programme are sponsored by Infineon Technologies Sdn. Bhd.They also will receive an amount of allowance during every phase of the modules.In this five years agreement, few more areas of collaboration will be identified for research collaboration, student and staff training programmes, and more academic and socialnetwork activities.Ultimately this collaboration will pave the way for research activities for both parties and university ranking for MMU.
