Our warmest congratulations to our Permata Dunia from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), 2002 Ms. Tan Chui Mui, on her remarkable achievement of being invited to the 54th edition of The Recontres d’Arles event in France. The event that was held from 3 July until 4 September 2023, gave Ms. Tan Chui Mui an incredible opportunity to showcase her exhibition project and being one of the first Malaysian artists to be invited to such a huge event as The Recontres d’Arles is one of the biggest, earliest, and most well-known festivals for photography.
Several work series created by Artificial Intelligence (AI), mirroring her reflections, copyright, property, and image making are presented at the exhibition including The Kinmen Series (2022), and The Arles Series (2023). Meanwhile, the video installation titled “The Emotion Machine” (2023) shows the true meaning of photography.
