On 5 September 2024, Ms. Heng Charng Yee, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Globetronics Technology Sdn Bhd, shared her inspiring journey during a Permata Dunia Returns session. A graduate of the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) in 2007, Ms. Heng began the session by reminiscing about her experiences as an MMU student.
In this virtual session, Ms. Heng provided insights on leadership in the technology industry, particularly in the digital era. She emphasised the importance of taking a proactive approach to navigating both technological advancements and the management of virtual teams. Key aspects of her leadership strategy include embracing technology, cultivating a culture of trust, facilitating effective communication, leveraging virtual leadership strategies, promoting work-life balance and fostering diversity.
Ms. Heng concluded that, with these qualities, leaders can successfully navigate the complexities of leadership in a digital world. Organised by the MMU Alumni Northern Chapter with the support of the Centre for Alumni, this Permata Dunia Returns session provided the university community with valuable insights from alumni and their expertise.
