PERMATA DUNIA RETURNS: Natasha Iskandar Shares Secrets to Social Media Success
On 16 April 2025 – The Centre for Alumni, Multimedia University (MMU), proudly welcomed back one of its distinguished alumni, Natasha Iskandar (Faculty of Business, Class of 2021), for an engaging and insightful online session attended by over 130 students across MMU.
As the Founder and Directing Manager of Tash Studio, Natasha brought her real-world experience to the virtual stage, guiding students through the journey from receiving criticism (“Kena Marah”) to making money through social media. The event, part of the university’s Permata Dunia Returns series, aimed to bridge the gap between academia and the digital creator economy.
The session focused on practical strategies to thrive as a content creator, including how to turn negative feedback into a branding opportunity, develop a structured content strategy using the PLAN – CREATE – PUBLISH – REVIEW framework, and gain insights from behind-the-scenes glimpses of real client projects—highlighted by a viral Hari Raya promotional post and a preview of a Facebook ad campaign.
Students were given a rare glimpse into Natasha’s workflow and content development process, sparking plenty of inspiration and ideas.
A special thanks was extended to Mr. Vincent Chan, Foundation Lecturer 1 at MMU Melaka’s Faculty of Business, for his continued support in guiding students through the session.
Natasha left the students with a powerful reminder: “You don’t need a huge budget to start – just the right mindset, tools, and a willingness to learn.”
Her return marks not only a celebration of alumni success but also a motivating spark for future digital entrepreneurs emerging from MMU.
