The Centre for Alumni (CfA) recently hosted an inspiring Inspirational Sharing Session (i³) featuring Permata Dunia, Mr. Hazwan Hussein, Chief Operating Officer of MARDI Corporation on 23 April 2025. Held at InnoLab, EDC MMU Cyberjaya, the session drew students and staff eager to learn from a leader who has successfully navigated the path from university life to the corporate world.
In his talk titled “Corporate Leadership & High-Performance Culture”, Mr. Hazwan shared practical wisdom and powerful life lessons rooted in his own journey. He emphasised the importance of self-leadership, agility, and integrity, urging students to lead themselves first, earn trust through action, and stay true to their values even when it’s tough. “Your energy walks into the room before you do,” he said, encouraging students to be mindful of the presence they bring into any space.
At the end of the session, a token of appreciation was presented by Dr. Abby Ashraff Bin Saprudin, Deputy Dean, Student Experience & Alumni (SEA), Faculty of Management. The event was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, Director of ACE. The session’s success was also made possible with the invaluable support of Mr. Muhammad Nizam Zainuddin, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Management. It is hoped that the students who attended will carry forward the insights and inspiration shared by Mr. Hazwan, empowering them to lead with purpose, embrace challenges with confidence, and chart their own meaningful paths from university to the boardroom.
