Multimedia University Wins Most Entries for Higher Education Institution in DC3 Competition
Multimedia University won MOst Entries with 298 entries of Higher Education Institution category in Digital Creative Content Creation (DC3) Competition on 25 November 2017. The DC3 competition was organised by Multimedia University and Creative Content Industry Guild (CCIG, was graced by YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Halim Shafie; the Chairman if Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Also present, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob; Chairman of TM, Prof Datuk Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq; President of MMU, Dato' Jurey Latiff Rosli; Chairman of CCIG and Tuan Hj Azhar Hj Ahmad; the Director of DC3. More than 300 people enliven the DC3 award ceremony at Dewan Tun Canselor, Multimedia University.
There were four main categories namely Photography, Image MAnipulation, New Media and Video-Short Movie and there were approxiamately 39 winners were celebrated for their achievements during the ceremony. The winners for each category received cash prize of RM3,000 (first prize), RM2,000 (second prize) and RM1,000 (third prize). Each prize also came with a trophy and additional A.C.A (Adobe Certified Associate) Exam Voucher worth RM450 only for selected group of category. The DC3 competition was warmly received with 2760 entries from all over Malaysia. SMK Pusat Bandar Puchong 1 was awarded as most entries for school category and received cash prize of RM5000, trophy and A.C.A Exam Voucher.
The DC3 competition succeeded in bringing out the creativity amongst MMU students when Muhammad Aiman Naufal Mohd Nasir, from Multimedia UNiversity won two prizes for Photography category, as his photos "Kampung Boy" was announced as the first prize and "The Art of Light" managed to capture the judges' attention. For Image Manipulation category, Multimedia University students were crowned as winners for this category. Aisyah Hairul Azhar, one of the winners said she was happy and grateful for this award. Another outstanding achievement was "Memory Visitor", which won first prize for Video-Short Movie category by Tan Yong Lin, Lim Kai Xiang, Tan Yong Fu and Pau Tun kai.
Besides that, Nor Ashraaf Norzahari from Management Science University (MSU) could not contain his excitement after winning second prize in Photography category. He was shocked and speechless, but he was thankful to the organiser for this great opprtunity. A student from KL Metropolitan University College, Mohd Fitri Mohd Firdaus Geevagaraniam won first prize in New Media category with his artwork entitled "#Patriotism Morph". Aaleah Iman Mohd Zahrein, 10 years old from SK Taman Bukit Teratai won first prize in Photography for school category, and she was the youngest winner with her artwork, 'Water Fun'.
