Ts. Dr. Vimala Perumal is a Permata Dunia who graduated in 2004 in Bachelor of Multimedia (Honours) (Film and Animation) from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia. She is currently a lecturer from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia and a famous director of Malaysian Tamil films who was interviewed by Astro Vaanavil recently. A 30-minute interview was conducted in conjunction with her upcoming series, Tamiletchumy premiering on 8 June 2020 on the same TV channel. Dr. Vimala shared her journey as a filmmaker and her educational background when she started her tertiary education with MMU as well as continuing to serve the varsity as an academician. In addition, Dr. Vimala is a Co-Founder of Veedu Production Sdn Bhd.
