
A friendly badminton session between MMU and Infineon Melaka took place at Infineon’s sports facility, providing an opportunity for both sides to connect in a relaxed and engaging setting on 3 November 2025. The session brought together MMU staff, students, and several MMU alumni who are currently serving at Infineon.
From MMU, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail, Director of the Melaka Campus, who also took part in the matches on court. Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement and Touchpoint (MEET), was present as a guest supporter, while Dr. Khair Razlan Othman, Head of the Centre for Alumni (CFA), led the coordination of the programme. On the Infineon side, the session was joined by senior representatives including Mr. Eng Seng Meng, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Infineon Melaka; Mr. Wang Choon Siang, Vice President of Engineering; and Mr. Tang Chee Chiang, Head of Information Technologies.
Throughout the evening, participants showcased strong teamwork and sportsmanship, playing with a healthy balance of friendly competition and camaraderie. Beyond the matches, the event served as a meaningful platform for MMU to reconnect with its alumni at Infineon and to continue fostering a positive working relationship with the company.
The atmosphere was warm and encouraging, with players and supporters exchanging conversations, laughter and shared enthusiasm. The session concluded on a positive note, with both MMU and Infineon expressing interest in continuing similar engagements in the future, whether through sports, networking or collaborative activities that strengthen ties between the university, its alumni and industry partners.
